There are many churches today popping up who have a solid faith statement but are choosing to be wishy washy and not take a stand on important secondary matters. By doing this they are failing as Shepherds to teach Scripture and on godly living; bith are essential to the role of the spiritual shepherd in their life.  The church has to teach on these matters, and ones not addressing it in their statement are likely going to spring on you at some point that theyve embraced the worlds views. Thst is a deceptive tactic that Christians should never do but Satan always does.  And they cannot avoid teaching Scripture in areas of Baptism, End Times, Sexual Sins, Following Christ not culture, unity in Christ vs racism, and other matters that affect a believers daily life as well as growth and maturity in the faith. Attending infant baptism Q: I'm considering changing churches and the only biblically sound one near me that I can find is a Presbyterian church. So my biggest concern is that I'm not 100% convinced on infant baptism. What would be your arguments for or against infant baptism? A: Infant baptism isnt biblical and stems out of false teachings of the catholic religion. If you have checked the belief statement of the churches around (and it is the only one in 50 miles) and you have no other choice, you can go... it is a secondary issue so you should be ok. But if you have children you need to teach the issue, discuss believers baptism and how you can have unity and disagree on non essentials. It is a good time to go thru the essentials with your child. What Hills should you die on?  Besides the Essentials there are areas of secondary matters. These are ones diff churches disagree on and it is due to either 1. Lack of biblical knowledge; they haven't matured yet in understanding Scripture, or 2. The straight up reality that person doing it & the ones embracing it are "not saved". And if it isnt #1 then theyre actually outside of Christianity and theyre excluded from what's being said on essential/secondary issues because that so called "church" is a false church with false teachers and false converts following false beliefs. Disagreeing Rightly  “ How to master the art of disagreement in the Church” 1. Essentials- hills to die on, and cant fellowship with.  2. Secondary - cant do church together 3. Tertiary - can have a discussion over dinner thats it.  4. Can have disagreement over: Social, Political, Cultural issues ... but pick what hills to die on (like abortion).
