Being led towards God & reading the Bible

Q: I'm an young professing atheist. I didn't grow up in a religious family and didnt attend church regularly. Recently, a family member gave me some money, and I decided to buy a Bible. I thought it would be a good starting point. I got a small, cute Bible that fits in my pocket, making it easy to carry around. My sister, (who isn't very religious either), gave me her old Bible (having got a new one). Most of my family is also atheist. I’m not trying to push religion on anyone; I’ve had negative experiences with religious friends who judged me for my beliefs, which is part of why I identify as an atheist. My mom and I are currently staying with family having hit hard times, & she is struggling with depression over it. I try to encourage her, (who is also an atheist). I told her we would find a place again and that her cats are safe at the shelter. I even said, "God will help us," even though I don’t believe in God. It just came out naturally. While sitting out...

Seeking Answers for basic Christian clarity

Q: I have been reading the Old Testament and it has made me feel very discouraged. 1) I understand that we can only be saved by Jesus, nothing we even do or think can save us. 2) I understood that we might not have free will, but we have free choice. 3) Reading verses where God sent evil spirits, or gave them permission to do harm or to lie, etc. I know that God is good and no evil comes from Him, but 4) I have all these conflicting thoughts and questions, I was under the impression the enemy could attack wherever he could get the opportunity, but if the enemy has to get permission from God before he can attack does it basically come from God? 5) I had a rough childhood, and like most people having health issues as well. I am still young, 6) I know that I don't even deserve the light of day, but 7) why did God make me? 8) What if I too take too long to change my ways and He gives me over to my fleshly desires and hardens my heart? How many chances do we get and do we really have fr...

Who does God Love & why are people handicapped?

Q: Who does God Love & why are people handicapped? A: On Handicapped:   It is because when sin entered the world, through the Fall [by the disobedience], corruption entered. We know God has plans for the person, family and those around them to eventually bring about His plan. We dont know why we bear the specific burdens we do, only that we are to lean on Christ, let it grow us in sanctification, and glorify Him in the process. Heres some helps on the topic Regarding love: God loves only those Born Again. He gives common grace to all mankind (who dont deserve it) but special Grace and love to those who are His. He is creating them across all humanity's time and redeeming them one by one.  Here is some clarity on correcting varied false modern understandings of God. Have you been born again? Are you sure you are going to Heaven? Make sure ...  (vid). If you get right with God, here are resources to help you begin your new life in Christ.  Books: The God ...

Why did the Baby die

Q: Why did God allow the baby to die A: Suffering, disease and death happen because Humans sinned and brought Sin into the world. This isnt God's fault. But, God brought the baby to Heaven. Same as my twins who died. Same as all young ones who die before age of accountability. God is gracious and loving. We each need to be right with Him thru Jesus so when we die we are Heavenbound too. See NeedGod.com Situation background: A woman was pregnant and happy. Later was told her baby had defects and wouldn't live. She wanted to abort it. The Law in her State has rules around medical necessity and values unborn life. The baby was born and lived 44 minutes. The mother has trauma over the child dying. Commenters said they had gone thru similar situation, some babies lived 6 months, another noted the doctors said the same thing to her, her child is 5 years old and healthy. Others noted when their child who passed after birth lived a while, they were so thankful to have a few days,...

Whats going on

Suffering, trials & tribulations, or discipline? If you read the Bible you know that many people died for their faith. Evil unsaved men follow Satan and do evil things to others. It doesnt mean God directed it. God allows it for many reasons, both for the believer to trust and rely on God; whether they survive the trial or enter Heaven after being murder martyred.  Jesus died, Stephen died, many were persecuted and murdered ever since... by leaders in catholicism, and by islamics, hindus, and by regular unsaved people because they align with Satan and hate God and His people.   " Just have concern about properly fearing God, who can cast a person into Hell, so...do not fear man who can only kill you and do nothing else." (verse) God allows suffering, trials & tribulations to strengthen our faith, to be an example of a obedient servant who trusts God, and it encourages others faith by hearing about the person and situation they were in.  Gid always uses ...
