History of how RCC ECC & Orthodox began

History of RCC ECC & Orthodox Religions True Christianity: The faith as taught by Jesus and the apostles (1st century AD), based solely on Scripture. Continued thru 300-400s, then was restored by the Reformation.  Catholicism:  Around 5th century AD (c. 476 AD –500 AD), after the fall of the Western Roman Empire, Catholicism was created. The Church in Rome had consolidated authority under the Pope at that time. Over time, heresies & false doctrines were added: like papal supremacy, indulgences, purgatory, veneration of saints, Marian doctrines etc.  By doing this they rejected Biblical truth, what God said the Gospel is, and perverted who God and Jesus are...thus they went into apostasy (& likewise idolatry [meaning created a false god]).  Looking a bit closer: Biblical Christianity: 1st century, directly following Jesus and the apostles. Roman Catholic institutional development: Around 5th century AD (~476–500), the Church in Rome consolidated power, add...

An Appointment in Heaven

He wept with those who wept.  Edward D. Griffin resigned his pastorate at the Newark Presbyterian Church, one of the largest churches in the nation, to become professor of pulpit eloquence at the newly established Andover Theological Seminary in Massachusetts. When Griffin moved from New Jersey to Boston to assume his new position, he was accompanied by five students who would attend the new seminary.  One of them, Lewis LeCount Conger, soon fell seriously ill, and Griffin, who had grown to love the young man deeply, sought to inform and comfort the family of the ailing seminary student. Griffin’s poignant correspondence with those who loved Lewis Conger began:  January 2, 1810  My Dear Sir,  How often have you and your dear family said, “The Lord reigneth, let the earth rejoice.” What a blessing it is that He has the appointment of all our changes and trials. . . . You have given a son to Christ, and if He has work for him on the earth, He will preserve h...

Are they a Denomination ?*

There is a big misconception in Christianity today about what a denomination is, why they exist and who is in a denomination. False religions are not a denomination of Christianity. That includes works based religions like Catholicism, Orthodox, Church of England; Anglican & Episcopalian(1), and cults (like Mormons, Jehovah Witnesses, 7th day adventists, Church of Christ, etc), they are not Christian because they reject the essentials God has revealed plainly to us in Scripture, and greatly distort truths taught in it. Scripture is God's Special Revelation to mankind. Christianity is a grace based faith, has the true Gospel, and holds to & teaches what the Bible actually says. Very simply Denominations in Christianity are protestant . Only protestant. These Christian Denominations came about because the Reformation brought truth to the people. Reformers in the 16th century were restoring biblical Christianity, (that was lost in the West due to [false religion of] Roman...

Eyewitness Testimony

Thinking thru the validity of Eyewitnesses   Q: Mark Matthew Luke and John; 4 Gospels; 4 different witnesses and 4 different stories. How would that even hold up in court? Theyre different so isnt someone lying?  - Jew,  seeking clarity A: Differences are normal with Eyewitnesses. Are you unaware of how eyewitness statements work? Think of 9/11. If you were alive. If not, go back to view the news videos. One main big event, 100k thousand or more witnesses from then gave different eyewitness statements to that event. Even the news anchors talked about all the various eyewitnesses. Even the 8 billion people on earth that saw that unfold either live on the air or in news about it just right after, or later that day. >> Even in the weeks and months after; the volunteers and govt agencies who tried to rescue people from the rubble, and their experiences in the clean up efforts.  5 years later they asked people "Where were you on 9/11?" I am an eyewitness to that eve...
