The Holy Spirit - and believers sin
Yet that Holy desire can never be pure in that we will aways have the still present sinful fleshly desire that war against the spiritual desire while in this temporary body. That is why we are called to "pick up our crosses daily." A "cross" is symbolic of "sacrifice" which means that when we sow to the spirit and follow the desires of God it will "cost us something of ourselves". That means that we will (sometimes) be doing what we do not always want to do in our still present selfishness. When we do good works, and when we resist sinning it is a blessing in our union with Christ. And, even if it means the world will hate our righteousness and the cross we carry has a cost that leads to death, we are not afraid but boldly continue onward standing on truth no matter what the culture or world think, say or do.
