Charismatic Question

Q: if the Holy Spirit still speaks, the canon can't be closed.

A:
That verse supports sola scriptura and canon being closed.

This verse specifically uses the past tense “spoke” for that very reason. In this way the canonical Scripture, is "done" because it’s past tense.

The very next Chapter goes on to warn of false teachers and teachings, which is what Charismaticism is.

The entire reason God had the Apostles write the NT was to tell the world what they saw and heard and were taught by God "as actual witness of Christ". His actual physical disciples "alive when He was here". Canon is closed. The full revelation of Christ and everything to the end of the world and into eternity was revealed. He told us the end. There is nothing left for God to tell us.

The OT pointed to Christ.
The NT revealed Him.
The Apostles taught all we need to know for Christian living.
God revealed all about the future and what will happen on Judgment and Reward day, and that he is bringing the New Heaven and New Earth where He will take us for eternity.
Cannon is closed.
Basic common sense.

Don't let charismaticisms false teaching decieve you anymore. Flee from them, to Truth.

"We live in a day in which charismatic teaching has misled many people. A wave of powerful personalities and hyper-emotionalism has left the church vulnerable to doctrinal aberrations."
