Is it mandatory that we sit under a pastor?
Q: Is it mandatory that we sit under a pastor? I’m currently visiting churches. I’m not a member. But I’m saved. I’ve been saved for years. I was a member of a church but changes in my family (death of my mom) has caused me to leave my home church. Quite frankly it’s emotionally hard for me to attend that church because of grief. I cry everytime I visit. So now I’ve mainly been visiting churches. I’m hesitant on joining one of them because I feel they’re too legalistic. They base salvation on wearing long skirts that drag to the ground. I’ve never backslid. But my dad and brother treat me like I’m not saved. Both of them said because I’m not under a pastor that it will be difficult to stay saved. And theyve got some nerve. Both of them struggle in their flesh. I can’t tell you how many people are living backslidden sitting right up in church every Sunday. I plan to just move my membership somewhere.
