There is a big misconception in Christianity today about what a denomination is, why they exist and who is in a denomination. False religions are not a denomination of Christianity. That includes works based religions like Catholicism, Orthodox, Church of England; Anglican & Episcopalian(1), and cults (like Mormons, Jehovah Witnesses, 7th day adventists, Church of Christ, etc), they are not Christian because they reject the essentials God has revealed plainly to us in Scripture, and greatly distort truths taught in it. On what basis do we judge Scripture to be authoritative?  Q: I am now leaning Reformed, [having been disillusioned by Rome] but have questions. The main one is: since Christians obviously don't accept the authority of the Pope or the Catholic Councils, by what basis do we judge Scripture to be authoritative?
