Damned by The Law
Jewish converts to Christ had come from Jerusalem and were incorrectly telling the converted Gentiles, “You’ve got to go back and do all those things that are in the Mosaic law.” They were basically saying “It is not enough for you that you have been saved by faith. In order to be truly saved, you must keep the law of Moses.” They were preaching a different gospel. Paul got really angry and wrote that was a horrendous distortion of the gospel! In chapter 1:6, as you remember, he says, “I am amazed that you are so quickly deserting Him who called you by the grace of Christ, for a different gospel; which is really not another; only there are some who are disturbing you and want to distort the gospel of Christ.
