Why Former Pastors leave Christianity

Former Pastor - believed a video claims of Bible inaccuracies, contradictions, and left Christianity for "self truth".  Q: I've seen former Church goers talk online about inaccuracies in the Bible (and note the fact that people can't hear that unless they want to). I was a minister that left because of what studying taught me.  My greatest wake up call was seeing a video entitled 200 words changed in the Bible, that was later washed from the internet. That video and the truths that followed shattered any preconceived notions that wanted to remain. I have chosen to embrace "my truth". A: Dear former "pastor",  Looks like what you were studying wasnt Truth or reputable resources if that was your conclusion.  Lots of people [who were decieved by wolves like you] "left the church", because of so called churches leaders like you. You are guilty of being the one who decieved others; false conversion, false teaching, false answers, along with cau...

When a pastor converts to Islam or Atheism

Q: In Indonesia, there's this viral case about an elder from a Presbyterian church here, along with his wife, who converted to Islam and resigned from his position a few weeks ago. The video of the conversion process, which lasted over 5 hours, doesn't contain any debates but rather his reasons for leaving Christianity (the video is in Indonesian and posted by the Muslim who converted him). One of this former elder's doubts was something like this: "God's Word cannot be diminished or added to, but the Bibles in different churches have different numbers of books; some have 66, some 73, and the Greek Orthodox and Ethiopian ones have even more. How can this be considered a holy book?" He also mentioned verses that he believed were added, like Matthew 28:19, which he claimed was inserted or added (I've heard this accusation before, though I can't agree with it, because for me, a piece of data or theory isn't necessarily and cannot immediately become 10...

Doesnt want to go to church?

Image
Q: How do you counsel someone who claims they are a Christian but do not want to go to church? Can you be a true Christian and not regularly attend church? A: It doesnt sound like they have a medical or physical or elderly issue, so if they're not in church, they're outside the will of God.  They are giving excuses and revealing theyre likely a false convert. Many "come to Jesus" for wrong reasons, and you should probe and help them examine if their salvation is true. For those who still claim to be born again after that discussion, they need to be educated, corrected, admonished and exhorted lovingly so they are discipled in this matter and get into a local church this week.  Those not wanting to be in church reveal a core heart issue. If we love Jesus we will obey Scripture. We will see our place is in the local congregation, and to be using the gifts God gave us for the good works he had planned for us to do in this life. That plus many other things are reasons we ...
