Questions on Charismaticism

Q: What are the biblical views on the Pentecostal Church movement that is happening around the world? is it biblically accurate, and what are their beliefs? is it safe or should we pray for them to come out of it?

A:  Salvation was always based on faith. But in Scripture when Christ comes, God pivoted from Israel to the Church. It requires significant and undeniable authentication which is why God gave signs, signs to Christ as the Messiah, signs to His Successors the Apostles in order to prove, to demonstrate, to validate the Gospel they were preaching was indeed the truth.  

Ephesians 2:20 is the pivotal passage in the Charismatic controversy, in terms of the timing of the gifts... Ephesians 2:20 indicates that those signs were necessary for the age of Apostles and the Prophets for the Foundations of the Church. Once that Foundation was laid, those sign gifts are/were no longer necessary.

When we looked the book of Acts, when we see the Apostles speaking in tongues, they're speaking "authentic human foreign languages" which they did not learn. It's a miracle. When they prophecy, like when Agabus prophecied in Acts 11 & a bit later, when his prophecies come they come with the full authority of the Holy Spirit, they are infallible & they are authoritative. When the Peter & John and the other Apostles heal people in the book of Acts, those healing, like Christ's healing in the Gospels, are instantaneous, undeniable, and inexplicable except for the miraculous. So the book of Acts sets forth for us sign gifts that are undeniable miracles. 

We find to the modern Charismatic movement, which 1. redefined the gift of tongues as a private prayer language that consists of an irrational speech, which does not correspond to any known human foreign language. 2. They have redefined prophecy as that which is often inaccurate, fallible and non binding. And 3. they've redefined healing in one of two ways. The Benny Hinn kind which dont work, and then there's the James 5 kind of answers to prayers which are not immediate, not instantaneous, not 100% effective, it's pray for a person and wait to see if God heals them in His time.

When you compare what's going on in the modern Charismatic movement with what was going on in the book of Acts theres no comparison. (1)

Verses and discussion: 

Ephesians 2:20 "built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone."

Acts 2:4 "All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them."

The apostles and the 120 were gathered, waiting in the upper room, as instructed by Jesus, and then they experienced the pouring out of/the arrival of the Holy Spirit, which enabled them to speak in various languages.

When the Holy Spirit descended on the Day of Pentecost, when the Gospel was preached.

In Acts 2:1-41, Gospel preaching occurred. This passage recounts the day of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit descended upon the apostles, enabling them to speak in various languages. This miraculous event attracted a diverse crowd in Jerusalem, as people from different regions and backgrounds heard the Apostles proclaiming the wonders of God in their own languages.

The Apostle Peter then stands up and delivers a powerful sermon, explaining the significance of what was happening and proclaiming the gospel message. He speaks about Jesus' life, death, and resurrection, calling the people to repentance and faith. This sermon leads to the conversion of about 3,000 people that day, marking a pivotal moment in the early church and the spread of the Christian faith.

In Acts 2:6 it says "And when this sound occurred, the multitude came together, and were confused, because everyone heard them speak in his own language." 

This means A Jew was speaking but [example] of the 20 languages present there (as travelers and tradesman), they all heard their language spoken simultaneously as the Apostle spoken in Hebrew. It's like an American President speaking at the U.N and no translators are needed. 

That's not what goes on in Charismaticism. Likewise the prophecy and healings are shams too. They’re lying about gifts. They were not given by the Holy Spirit. So they're in serious danger. All liars will have their part in the Lake of Fire, and no one whose lifestyle is one of lying is saved. Theyre just idolators as cult members and those in false Christianity are. Further, they're blasphemous, because God did not give them those gifts. My advice is 1. Stay far away from anyone who is Charismatic, and 2. Study about this issue so you are not decieved by them. We are told that anyone who claims to be saved but is unrepentant in sin, we are to treat them as an unbeliever. Most-all of those in the Charismatic movement, [just like Catholics] are unsaved, the leaders are for sure, but a few of their followers may genuinely be saved but are currently just duped. Many gravitate there for the mysticism, like folk coming out of Catholicism tend to. But, anyone among them who is genuinely saved, who finds the truth out, will flee charismaticism immediately. They'll go find a true Christian church and sit under the teaching there, lead by the Holy Spirit (within the leaders there).

(2) "redefined" is a twisting and falsehood that is not following nor in line with what God has said, did, nor intended. Thus it is doctrines of demons. 

(3) Apostles were only those selected by Jesus, the 12. There are no more Apostles today. Charismatic like to give themselves titles like Apostle, Evangelist, Prophet, Prophetess, etc and it's all nonsense. Such is more in line with pagan temples than Christianity.
