Cain and "other people"

Q: I am new to Christianity. A friend is very religious and has studied scripture for years. He said something I am looking for clarity about; he said that when Cain was exiled after killing Abel, he went to "other people". Who were those "other people", since Adam and Eve's family were the only humans talked about at that time? He claims that this means there were other people that existed. He also thinks those people didnt have souls. To me this would explain how so many people are pure evil. But, what can you share biblically on this to educate me accurately?

It looks like you are asking who the other people were after Adam and Eve.

The Bible follows the stories of people who are singled out for important points and for genealogy. In Scripture Men are the geneologies & history lines followed. It focuses on a family tree from Adam onward.  On rare occasions women like Deborah, Priscilla, Lydia, Rahab, Mary, and others are mentioned. In Rahab's situation it's in connection to the lineage line of David that ends up at Jesus birth. Geneologies and lineage family tree stuff were very important to the Jews, and what God used to show Jesus is of David's line and the one fulfilling the promises of OT as Messiah. The Bible began being written down at God's command (and by the Holy Spirit) first through Moses, to give to the people prior to entering Israel as a nation and land, thus all of Scripture has a focus on & for the Jews, first, and later for Gentiles too. So it is history for all of humanity. It also tells us about God, humanitys fall, the Messiah Savior, and how to he saved. It tells us how to live morally righteous in Christ through the fruit of the Spirit, by the Holy Spirit indwelling and guiding us. It also tells us of God's care and promises to believers, and pertaining of the local Church.

As far as who the other people are, they came from Adam and Eve... who continued to have kids. They married humans this way until genetics were corrupting and God forbade it (then calling it incest). Adam & Eve had kids over many years. As noted females are not normally noted in Scripture, and the story focus was on Cain here. So him going to another area where those people lived, is just like you and me moving away from family in town, to go to a nearby city. Its normal as people were spreading out. Again, God tells us what he wants us to know. The Biblevisnt a million book library of every fact snd story from history. Just what's necessary to tell us. 

As far as how people are evil, that's clearly explained all over Scripture, but first revealed in Eden; Adam sinned and so all lost the righteous nature, and now only have the sin nature, thus all are evil, aka wicked, even before our birth. This is why we need Jesus to restore us to our original design as righteous imagebearers of God, [See the Gospel].

I'm not sure what you mean by your friend is religious. If you mean a born again believers who is diligent in studying Scripture, or if you mean some religious guy whose looking for and holding to bizarre nonsense... I suggest you avoid the guy if he is the latter, cuz we are not to speculate about or create false beliefs to suit ourselves [idolatry], but instead are to submit to Scripture and seek guidance at church on varied questions. We all are a eternal soul, living in a human body. 

If you are not a member of a local Bible focused church, it's what you need to take care of this week. If you haven't been born again by God by obeying the Gospel, take care of that today, and join a church where your next step is believers baptism. Then read the Bible daily, attend Bible studies at church, and grow in the faith. Form close friendships with the brethren at church, and serve and worship God there every week.
