Bf is Catholic can we date/marry?

Q: Can you marry outside of your denomination? My boyfriend is a devout Catholic, but I am a Protestant Christian.

We have talked about the major differences between the two extensively. He says it’s a misunderstanding that Catholics worship Mary. They simply hold her to a high regard because she is the top saint. He also says that they do not pray to saints, but that they ask a saint to pray for them because they are alive in spirit, even if their body has passed. He compares it to a person who is physically alive to pray for you. They also have some differences in how salvation occurs.

It sounds like Catholics think that the salvation is not sincere if it does not lead you to do good works. I believe that salvation is first and that God will sanctify you with time. I believe this occurs the deeper that we surrender to him.

Of the catholic teachings he discussed, he said the early church "was that way". Is this true if the early church practiced this stuff? There is historical documentation of the early church being this way?

He and I have both felt we have been growing spiritually during our relationship and we would like to pursue marriage And family. I do have an interest in orthodoxy which is very similar and appreciate their emphasis on obedience because I do believe that obedience is the highest form of worship that we can give to God.

We have some questions about raising a family and going to church. He wants to go to Catholic church and I would prefer to go to Christian Church. He says he is okay with going to a nondenominational church (that doesn’t speak against Catholics). He also wants the kids to be baptized and have first communion in a Catholic Church. He says the Catholic Church will accept our marriage as long as the wedding happens through them.

There’s a few differences and books of the Bible as well. Lastly, when it comes to raising children, they will certainly have questions about faith and we would have to be prepared to tell them that we don’t exactly agree on all details, but we believe that Jesus is Lord and that is who we serve. Please give me some insight that could be helpful in the situation? Thank you

A: You can marry within another Christian denomination, if that denomination is actually Christian. There's false churches that claim to be Christian and false religions that claim to be Christian too.

Do NOT date nor marry a Catholic. It isn't just a different denomination.... it is a totally different religion. They may call it a "church" or The Church but it's a Temple of Satan. The Catholic church is full of false teaching and unbiblical doctrine. It isn't simply secondary issues, it's issues at the Essentials level of Christianity. They dont have the same God, Jesus or Gospel as the one historically true and revealed in Scripture, the one Christians believe and follow.

RCC also has a deceptive teaching to lure in/dupe folk to think they are the original church or part of the early church. They aren't of the early church at all, and even if professing to be, their apostate religion began long after the true Church existed, (and officially into a false religion by 606 AD). Even if they "once were", but werent for long [having split off into apostacy] they definitely aren't now, and havent been for a very long time...and that's what matters. They are not of nor are in the true Church of Christ. Dont let their slick words trick you. Use your critical thinking skills on this.

Just because they claim or say it doesn't mean Catholicism was the early church. Satan twists truth into a lie, as do his children. The phrase " the early church" could truthfully mean any timeframe (long after the Apostles lived) after the true Church was already established. RCC wasn't the early church nor was it the Church of Rome from in Bible times either. Regardless, they added false teachings, [at the essentials level] which should never have happened. It should've been rejected when someone tried to address it, but since in the Roman Empire, Catholicism ruled, thus had no one challenging its teachings, and no one dared to, due to consequences. This sect who chose the apostate path [Catholic/ Orthodox] kept adding more false teachings, unchecked. Until the Reformers long later tried to address, correct & remove the gross errors, to guide RCC to follow biblical truth. Luther who tried to reform from within sent the Church a list of 95 errors, but RCC rejected being corrected, and pursued, arrested, jailed and murdered anyone that taught anything RCC didnt...cuz its a den of demons, run by demonic folk in power. They have no interest in Truth. They're overall idolators like any other false religion.

If you understand this correctly, there's no way any Christian can join hands with the religion/people of that satanic system who murdered true believers [the reformers and followers]. Those who join hand with Satan after claiming to follow Christ, are both trampling on Jesus sacrifice and the persecuted and murdered Reformers who faithfully served Him. You may have dated him in ignorance, unaware of that... but you now know, your eyes are open, and you can no longer be with him, if you love Christ.

These children of Satan try to get you to go to their Catholic Temple for wedding, baptism, rites, etc to try to tie you to that satanic "church". The folk in RCC fear they won't get saved & will go to Hell if they don't do those things, (and think you and the kids will go to Hell if they dont make you do those things too). It's RCC way to instill fear in them and try to chain them to that demonic religion for life and future generations. It's how they hold power over the people, and remain in access to perpetual money; collected from forced tithes to indulgences and more.

Christians know the truth. Ephesians 2:8-9. "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast." John 3:3 tells us No acts of penance or sacraments or any other catholic tradition, or being of the Roman Catholic "Church" or any man made way can get you or anyone else to Heaven.

God saves us but we have to be born again.
Jesus in John 4:16.."I am the way, the truth and the life and no man cometh unto the Father but by me." And in John 3:3 "Jesus replied, 'Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.'" Jesus tells us how to be saved: "Repent and Believe the Gospel" Mark 1:15

Christianity is grace-based faith; God did all the work to save us, who don't deserve it, and all we must do to be saved is obey the Gospel. Repent and Believe. Basically we are receiving the free gift of salvation. When someone offers you a gift, you recieve it. You don't try to pay them for it, or attempt to. It would be insulting. We know God is able to save, and that Jesus did all the work to save us. It is fully completed, paid in full to God. Jesus redeemed all believers. They belong to Him having purchased us.

Like cults, Catholics may use words like "grace" but it's not the biblical definition. Catholics are in a works-based religion. They teach not that you do good works after saved, but that you have to do good works to work towards salvation. That Jesus only did part of the work, not in full. And that their [sinful] good deeds add to the balance scales, and thats a false gospel. Theyre teaching Jesus work wasnt fully sufficient to save them. They also believe you "cannot know" you are saved, [it is clearly stated right in the RCC Catechism teachings that they call it "a sin to assume" you are saved].

In truth, one does good works after they're saved cuz now that you are a honorable vessel of righteousness, in which The Holy Spirit lives in you - so God now accomplishes through you "the works planned for you to do in Christ from before the foundation of the world". So, until saved you can do no good works; the unsaved dont have the Holy Spirit, thus cannot do good works or good deeds. All works based religions in the world are useless. Their works are evil & only done in sin, with sinful motivations - It's like trying to bribe God with poop to get into Heaven; all man's works are only filthy rags in God's eyes, fit only to be burned - as God in Scripture tells us in Isaiah.

The Maryology issues are dealt with in the link provided on Catholicism. It is also idolatry on top of their religion's general idolatry (of false religion). Theyre not trusting in Jesus alone. They even are blasphemously calling Mary a co-redemtrix. It's demonic. Man cannot elevate humans to a position that isn't in their authority to do so. God never gave that authority to man, nor would He. God will not share his glory with anyone. Trying to put Mary on equal level with Jesus or above God is blasphemous! And that's what they do with Mary once you look into it.

On the point of prayer, they're vainly praying to dead people. What he tried to decieve you about regarding prayer doesnt pass the basic critical thinking skills or common sense test. Praying to someone to ask prayer for you is in fact praying to that person. God declared in Scripture that Jesus is our only High Priest and our only Mediator between us and God. We are not to nor have need to pray to or talk to any who are now in eternity. It is like necromancy, which God is very against. We are not to do it. Also those in eternity can't hear us, only God can. Our relationship is with God our Creator, not other believers who passed on (and are living their new life in eternity). We only pray to God. Jesus already gave us the example to follow on how to pray and who to pray to, as seen in Scripture.

In addition, Saints aren't someone RCC dubs or awards a title to from whatever baloney qualifications they made up. God in Scripture has been clear that those born again, (the Redeemed in Christ), they all are called Saints; yes all those alive today. The only qualifications is that a person is saved.

As to the Bible, not only does RCC not understand the Scriptures (since theyre spiritually blind), they also added books during the Reformation to try to hold onto the people to keep them trapped in their false religion instead of letting them leave [to follow true Christianity]. During that time RCC added books to the Bible that fit their teachings and removing some that no longer suited their purposes later. Regardless, Jews never accepted these extra books as the oracles of God (Scripture), and that's all we need to know. RCC by adding to Scripture, not teaching of Scripture, and witholding the truth from its followers... make all of them "twice the sons of Hell they themselves are". They teach lies and the people fall for them generation after generation, and it just leads them all off the cliff of death into eternal Hell. Satan further uses them to decieve that [as if] theres another chance for them [to be saved] after death... when God clearly revealed there is only judgment, and eternal punishment awaiting those who die in their sins.

A false religion has false teachings of Jesus in its writings [as the world religions do] or can be a religion [like Catholicism or Orthodox] that has the Bible... but the religion isn't teaching the true contents of it. And because the individual people in Catholicism don't read the contents of the Bible [as the Reformers worked hard and died to provide], so they know nothing & blindly rely on what the RCC religious leaders tell them of whats supposedly in it, (not fact checking it themselves), thus they in their sin nature fall hook line and sinker for the full idolatry of that religion. The wolf leaders there are being puppeteered by Satan and deceiving all these naive people. He uses their lusts: desires of their own selfish gain & it rules them; respect, position, being treated like untouchables, having puffed up pride, wielding power, clinging to ease of a stable job to make money, pilfering from the people, holding people in fear, all while living a comfortable life...without any care that theyre lying, decieving and damning these folks whom are under their shepherding. It is straight evil.

And further, because of the false teachings, when Catholic parishioners hear something about Jesus, morality, faith or the word "gospel" they think what they're hearing is the truth, but it's far from it. Thus anything they hear/read of Scripture in Catholicism such as "don't follow another gospel", the Catholic thinks it means anything outside Catholicism. Which is quite the opposite of reality. RCC doesn't have nor teach the true Gospel. So they haven't even embraced the true Gospel in order to be concerned with falling for a false one. Theyre in it and embraced the false one already, unaware. Just like their ancestors generationally for centuries.

All you have to do is examine what the NT reveals as the Gospel, to find the true Gospel.

Can people get saved from RCC and then leave Roman Catholicism to true Christian churches? Yes. It happens all the time in USA. If they read the Bible, hear the Gospel, are open to truth and lead by the Holy Spirit unto salvation... theyll get saved and pretty quickly leave the Catholic Temple for Christianity and find a biblical Christian church. 50% of thecpeople in the very large church I go to came outvof the idolatry of and false religion of Catholicism. Most leave it upon salvation but a few may remain there for a short time until they realize or its explained to them.

As to obedience, People in cults obey their teachings. Islamists obey the Quran. Obedience is no indicator of truth nor of salvation. What I mean is people can follow a false religion in obedience to it. These obey the darkness in their sin nature as dead blind men. Those claiming to be Christian (such as Catholicism) are not obeying God for they don't know Him, don't follow Him in truth based on what Scripture (66 books) teaches. Thus their obedience is to doctrines of demons. But true born again redeemed believers in Christ are naturally obedient in righteousness, because they have spiritual life; they're born again and are a new creation. Righteous obedience is impossible unless someone is right with God thru obeying the true Gospel of Christ.

If your bf is a devout Catholic, he is a child of Satan and you cannot be unequally yoked with the darkness (which you left when you came to Christ). It's unfathomable to even consider it. It's also why the Apostle in the NT warned 'Why are you leaving truth to go follow a gospel that's not the true Gospel at all?!.' However, if he is not a devout Catholic, hasn't really anything much if at all to do with RCC and was just calling himself one (cuz of his parents), then you can have an opportunity to share the truth with Him, if he is open to it. If he is not open to it, and doesn't embrace it [and leave RCC for good] then you cannot be with him. You must break it off. You cannot be unequally yoked. It is rebellion. And God will not bless such a relationship nor marriage. Idc if you even had kids with him. You don't chain yourself to the darkness for life [marrying]. You repent to God and move forward following Christ and righteousness.

The fact that he is trying to/has plans to tie the kids to RCC, while currently saying he's ok going to a Christian church, says volumes. Satan is going to try to trap you & the kids in the false religion after you marry. It's just another tactic of the dark one to try to drag as many from true faith as possible and right on into Hell with him [Satan]. Do not marry this man.

If you have kids with him take your kids and go raise them up in Christ, in Christianity as a single mom [till you marry a godly Christian man]. Their father will influence them still, but God is on your side.

If you have no kids yet, praise God!, as they wont be pulled towards the darkness in confusion or to try to please their unsaved father and go the way of the devil.

Choose whom you will serve, God or self. You can't pursue him and follow God.

Go speak to your Protestant Pastor to discuss all of this, and he will say the same. Review the material about Catholicism [an evangelistic site] so you can understand what's said here, having a firmer grasp. The issue begins with what's "essential" to "be" a Christian. If a overall teaching in a belief faith statement, (such as "Catechism of the Catholic Church") of a religion goes off the path of what God revealed in Scripture, then it's on the path of darkness not of truth. Likewise if it contradicts [God's Word] in Scripture, it is not truth. You need to truly understand that the RCC beliefs are not a matter of slight differences, between them and Protestants [aka Christianity]... it's literally that the differences are they have no truth; it is a path which only ends in Catholics damnation. Same is true of all other religions; ones masqurading as Christian or not.

This is not a light matter.

He is not the one for you, as he failed at the start with the basic Essentials test.

When you find a godly Christian man, bring him to your Pastor for examination, and for pre marriage counseling. And once married he will be the head of the home and spiritual leader, who follows & teaches truth revealed in Scripture to your family unit.

God bless
