There's a Void in my life and am examining Christianity
Q: I’m trying to become more religious and think that God is the answer for the void in my life… but my problem is I keep trying to convince myself about God and even heaven and hell. What do I do? I’ve only been listening to sermons online so far and have been researching Christianity. I just feel empty inside.
A: When we understand our purpose, value and identity, and also grasp what's wrong with the world, why it's like that and then see why we need Jesus... everything makes sense.
Here's helps..
4. The Gospel, which God calls us to obey.
5. This world will always be full of suffering, pain, Illnesses and death, but believers have more troubles but also also blessings. Both the latter (and firmer even) have good purposes. However God is always with the believer to help him grow closer to God, trust and rely on Him more, and seek comfort in Him. He is sovereign and works all things out. He is with the believer now and in eternity. The troubles in this life are temporary, but eternity never ends. There believers will live in a good place where Sin and it's related problems can never enter in. So we look forward to the day God calls us home to be with Christ.
This can help grasp the above a bit more.
6. This will help you understand the things of Christianity better too.
Once you find it reasonable that's when you obey the Gospel, I do hope it's today, since tomorrow isn't promised.
What we need isn't to become religious, but to turn our life over to God through faith in Jesus. And live as we were designed to.
