Q: I follow no Denomination. I do Christianity and studying the Bible by myself.
A: A misguided person might think they can do it alone, but for a stubborn one there is a deep heart issue if they avoid church membership. We need to guide both to truth.
Solid pastors have provided multiple decades of biblical truth to their congregations and the world. This is one. 56 years of preaching in depth thru the Bible. Christianity isnt a solo faith.
Denominations are simply about aligning with what you currently understand the secondary teachings in Scripture say. As you study Scripture (grow in the knowledge of it) you can understand a matter better, and decide if it is right to move to one that aligns with your new deeper understanding.
Denominations exist because of the Reformation spanning time and countries; the preacher there who came out of RCC, [into truth] by reading the Bible. From there he started teaching. What he understood is what the people were taught. They had missionaries, and reformers moved (to avoid being murdered by RCC), thus various bible churches popped up in various countries from all of that.
They all agree on the essentials of what saves, and secondarily have other understandings (as noted until a person grows). Reformers didnt live long they were martyred so it took time to get to the proper depths of various understandings which we have today. Unfortunately those denominations stopped reforming and studying so they stagnated stuck in old beliefs. [Not about cultural issues ...but about "doctrines taught in Scripture"].
Lack of understanding church history shows why you need to be in Church (a local church).
None of your initial comment is any excuse to try to avoid being a member at a church, which is what most intend (by such a comment). Such desire the "solo Christianity" life so they are not under church authority, have 0 accountability, avoid proper growth and service, and to avoid church discipline [hide so sins arent found out]. Thats not the right behavior of a Christian. We are to be under a local biblical Shepherd and to be active in the Church.
Only rebels run from living out proper Christian life in righteousness. If you love Jesus go and do what is right.
