Porn slaying and Covenant Eyes failures

Unfortunately there is a large percentage of Christians who continue to fall victim to this sin with little repentance. We cannot make the assumption that a person has already made an effort to quit previously either.

God commands us to be set apart from the world by turning from sin. Refusing to watch porn is a great way to set ourselves apart from the sin that is so widely accepted by the world.

I don't remember the statistic, but when your read your Bible they've seen studies of depression being down and the urge to watch po*n was also down a significant amount. Fill your heart with God's Word and fleshly temptations and the devil won't want to hang around you

Covenant Eyes might have good intentions, but it is also a problematic tool. God has given us freedom, shame be to those that “treat” problems by taking said freedom away. Like teaching a child not to touch things by shaming the child in public rather than explain and love.
Covenant Eyes doesn’t heal porn addiction. It just connects it quickly and directly to shame. And while doing that, it removes any privacy you might have to your connections as well, flagging you for buying underwear, looking at signs of skin cancer and notifying 15 year old girls parents when buying pads.

Covenant Eyes is a whip, not a loving hug. Maybe things like accountability and covenant eyes work for some people, but for the huge majority, they don't, because they are wiping away a web, not killing the spider (who will re-make the web). The spider gets killed by renewing the mind (Rom 12).

They arent getting to the core of the problem and that is grounded in a proper fear of God and understanding His Holiness. So that and lack of being in the Word [and being in the world and of it].

Feel free to use Covenant Eyes for some accountability, or get off the internet and even get a dumb phone until you've long conqured this sin.
