Jesus & Socialism?

No. Feeding a multitude does not equate socialism. We also know Scripture says to work in order to afford to eat, and that the farmer can pay whatever wages he wants to, it is his money. No one elses. He also noted the vineyard owner earns money from others hard work. Scriptures point to capitalism and people owning their own things. 

Let's look at the text: 

In Matt 49:20 the people wanted to make him King so they could get free food and free healthcare, the ultimate socialist state. 

Jesus fed people (John 6:1-15) who had come to hear him and followed him a long distance. They would die if they went home without food fuel they needed. So out of compassion and care about humans, (even all those he knew wouldnt be saved), he still helped them. He didnt steal anyones food & redistribute it as evil socialism does. A boy offered the food, he didnt steal a kids meal to redistribute it. and... he even gave that child more than what he had, while ensuring everyone got full, [unlike in socialism where only the top elite "get it all"], and afterwards, they even gathered much leftovers. 

That 5,000 crowd following Jesus walked away when they no longer "got what they wanted" from him. They only wanted Free free free stuff that is temporary. He offered eternal life. They didnt want that because they didnt understand their serious and primary need. They rejected him and what he offered. They rejected His Word, His teaching, eternal things, as they only cared about temporary earthly things.

Jesus is here for salvation, for Forgiveness of sins, and for eternal things. Not earthly stuff. He is not a temporal provider, nor let them [nor you] push him to be the kind of Jesus they wanted him to be.

He is here for those who want salvation, Jesus, and His words of truth. Not what we want, but to realign ourselves with what He wants, and what Scripture has said. 

If they had that truth and understood it and had that spiritual understanding they would grasp for it desperately and take it. 

"And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force” (Matthew 11:12)

Grasp why you need Jesus, and take it as those noted in Matthew did, and wise people today still do.
