Perseverance

When discussing the gospel and discussing salvation, it is necessary to point out the importance of perseverance.

He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. 1 Peter 2:24

If we are saved our sins were placed on Christ on the cross, we were given a new nature; the righteousness of Christ, we love and live in righteousness, walking with, fellowshipping with, and serving Christ as our Lord and Savior....and we will persevere to the end.

The believer might see they are persevering and know they are saved. But, after a believer perseveres to the end of their life, they are revealed by God, before all, to show they were indeed a redeemed one.

Perseverance is the reward, as it bears unimpeachable witness to the genuineness of their faith. And those whose faith is validated by a faithful life will enjoy the crown of eternal life with their Lord and Savior.
— John MacArthur

Who by God's power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time (1 Peter 1:5)

God will in the end reveal all who are saved.

Perseverance as a key fruit/proof that indicates you are saved. Those who dont persevere, depart as Scripture revealed: "they left us for they were not of us".

Watch out, brothers, so that there won't be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart that departs from the living God. But encourage each other daily, while it is still called today, so that none of you is hardened by sin's deception. (Hebrews 3:12,13)

They went out from us, because they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not of us. (1 John 2:19)

The ultimate proof if someone's salvation is persevering "in the Faith" till to the end of their life.
