ex atheist faith struggle

Q: I used to be an atheist, for most of my life.  I started a new life, started to focus on myself and everything was going great till I realized I felt empty and alone.

My heart wants Jesus but I don't know where to start, its been years since I went to church to the point that I dont even know how to find a church. Any advice on how to know when a church is actually blessed by God?

A: The below should help, but before you read that, I have a question. Are you saved? Make sure .

If you are a new believer your fellowship with God needs to grow and get stronger. We know God more and more and hear from him in the Scriptures. Our joy overflows from taking in the Word, trusting it, renewing our minds by it, memorizing it, meditating on it, and relying on its promises and guidance in every area of our life.

If you are recently saved, it will take a bit of time, to do the above. But the joy you have in Jesus saving you should might be the best & only thing you should be praiseful about right now. You are saved, are right with God, you are heavenbound, you will recieve an  inheritance there, and live in a sin free place in the eternal new Earth & new Heaven.

If you are a believer for about 3 years or longer, perhaps you do not have much joy because you focus on the worries and problems of the world in your day to day life, and are not daily in the Scriptures. There are statistics linking to a good faith and proper theology and proper worldview and right view of self and a closer relationship to God for those who are in the Word and prayer daily. I had seen my grandparents and parents in the Word daily. Ray Comfort even says "No read no feed" and reminds us that if we have a spouse we dobt talk to daily and dont listen to and fellowship with daily, then how can we say we have a relationship with them? How can we say we love them? So make sure you read S ripture daily without fail, at least 15 min a day in the morning and start your day in prayer too. Grow closer to God and your joy will feel more like when Moses came down from the mount. I remember when I first felt that after being in the Word more solidly. You will be able to rejoice and be joyful in any circumstance and situation, if you do.

I would recommend a refresher on the Gospel, a refresher on prayer and suggested models, and to read every day of your life; Scripture cover to cover to cover.  After 3 years of solid cover to cover reading, you could try a fun reading plan that is topical or covers certian areas.

Also not being in church is one of the other problems. You can't grow well in your faith without the local congregation, which is your local church family. The studies, the sermins, the serving etc. are needed for a believer.
