One is Elected (chosen/foreordained) to salvation.

Salvation occurs in three tenses. 

 We are saved (justified) from the penalty of our sin, the process of salvation (sanctification) continues saving us from the power of sin until our ultimate reward of salvation (glorification) where we will cast off the presence of sin.
