News headline: Anna Duggar and Josh's parents have not given up on him.
Why would anyone give up on Hope. Thank God, God offers forgiveness, transformation to a lover of righteousness (from lover of darkness). As fellow beings made in God's Image we have and can also extend love, kindness, mercy, grace, patience, forgiveness, restoration, repaired relationships and more.
Too many unsaved people in this world who cause problems and others who perpetuate it with hate and self righteousness, thinking they are better than others... when in God's eyes we are all the same.
Q: I can forgive a lot of things but pedophilia is not one of them. Why would you want a person like that by your side? Also once Josh gets out of Jail, legally, the children shouldn't be able to be around him.

...because if God saves him, he recieves a new nature. Totally transformed. He will hate sin and love righteousness and live "in" Christ. He will have God's Spirit living in him, and enables him to live rightly.
Murderers get saved, regular folk get saved. God is in the business if redemption, transformation and restoration of humanity 😊.
He will have consequences in how you noted afterward regardless, but would be able to have supervised visitation while they are under 18. If he is born again and they see genuine change, the kids can choose to allow him in their lives (even if they have rules around their babies in the future, which is fine). Fortunately once the redeemed enter eternity, sin will never enter where they dwell, and this will not be an issue there. 😊
