Bad Church Signs vs Truth
Q: Why are Church signs like this??
A:
Christian:
Pretty much shows theres many false churches and teaching in the world. The Bible holds the truth, not gimicky slogans, [though it makes folks "think about God" when they see it.😊]
False teachings are just Satans deception. Whether a religion, a cult or atheist/ agnosticsm. The truth is only what God revealed in the Bible. Anything else is false. Scripture is clear that we gravitate away from truth because we are blinded by Satan and have the sin nature, and love our sins. So those enslaved to Satan love darkness & run from the light. It isnt until God comes to us, moves us and converts us, that we can love truth, righteousness and God.
Non Christian:
The mere fact that a false church exists that is teaching a false message is enough. Whether the bible holds truth or not, [I've read every word, none of it appealed to me as truth], churches add to the chaos through their own decisions. Somewhere along, church lost their grip on reality and refuses to acknowledge their shortcomings, which is... comical anymore. This pic is evidence of that.
Christian:
Jesus parables as well as NT teaching clearly shows there will be false converts [on top of the earlier note above (and as you mentioned)] and false teachers entering the Church. We see that obv today w progressive "churches", cults, false groups [Catholicism & Orthodoxy included], false prosperity preachers, charismatics, and with the culture influencing the church vs the church influencing the culture (as it used to, before mid 90s; its off the rails now). They lost their way because they know not Scripture, do not preach it in pulpits, and majority do not belong to Jesus [they arent saved].
Regarding apostasy and false teachers - God already warned in NT era [before the church even began], that these things would happen. That prophecy (came true &) is still proving true today.
Regardless, people are either on Satan's side or God's side. There is no other option. Investigate it for yourself so you aren't duped by Satan and spend eternity in Hell...
Non Christian:
I can admit that i might be atheist, I've seen no evidence of it, so to me, it doesn't exist.
To me it isnt God or Satan but mental people are attacking churches more nowadays, perhaps because there's a realm of corruption within the church, like you said, seeing it with progressive churches, but if that is happening, then what benefit is there believing in something [God] that won't even protect it's own house? How do you justify something like that?
Christian:
The attacks on churches and Christians, (like the school kids killed recently by the transgender mass murderer), is because of the evil in the world by those with the sin nature, who are being used by Satan to do evil. It isnt because "true" churches and preachers arent doing their job. It is because the world is corrupt from the Fall.
The misunderstanding in this area, of your latter question, is God is in control and will bring about good in the end, and in all situations. Again, humans are doing these bad things by choice, but also some is by Satan. And in that, God allows certain things to happen. Again, human choices are being made and that is not God. He allows some things, directs others, and prevents others. I can explain examples, so that makes more sense, but rather stay on the main topic point...
The main thing He did was promise a Savior in Eden and He arrived in the NT, and by that He made The way for us to be redeemed, and spend eternity in a sin free place. God never promised world peace here, he promised believers "peace with God" thru Jesus, and that believers will "live in a perfect place in eternity free from the corruption" (due to the fall) we experience here. This is just a measly 20 to 90 years on earth... Our best life is in the world to come, in eternity, but it is only for the redemed believers, [those who turn to Jesus, now].
God offers us what we dont deserve [Salvation] and doesnt give us what we (as sinners) do deserve [Hell]. Its the good news, the best.
Non Christian:
if God were in control, then humans wouldn't be making decisions that are supposedly ordered by Satan...it would be in control of Satan, it would be in control of the decisions that humans make. But no, God gave everyone free will, right? Well if God gave everyone free will, then what's the point of being God? What's the point in believing in and respecting something that allows people to go into it's place of worship and murder everyone inside? The backwards logic associated with religion corrupts the mind, and that's why people are dying in churches, that's why those that run the churches are some of the richest little piggies in the world. Justify it all you want, religion may have been beneficial and one point in time, but it's become a cesspool anymore...
Christian:
The answer is as i tried to explain... and
You are right that we have freedom of choices, but only in the confines of what God allows. God allowed Adam & Eve access to the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and the tree of life.
Because of the choice humans made in Eden to sin, consequences happened. We died spiritually immediately (spiritual separation from God, no fellowship no relationship), and would die physically. God in his love blocked the way to the tree of life, so we wouldnt eternally be stuck in a sinful nature, a sinful corrupt world (and all the horrible things that come with it; that would be a living hell). Instead it would be temporary. He promised the Messiah, sacrificed the first animal pointing to the Messiah, clothed them with the blood stained covering of the animal, pointing to Jesus sacrifice, shed blood and righteous covering... making the way for us to be redeemed from the Fall. It will be eternal. From the moment of salvation thru all eternity. New eternal body fit for the new world coming. Restoring all things to its proper order, and by the new perfect nature and body, sin will never enter again.
People by the sin nature are enslaved to Satan. But Satan cannot do whatever he wants. He has to get permission from God. That is why i said God allows evil things among people and satan, because God will work it all out. He is like a conductor weaving a web through space and time causing all things to come to the end result, both in our lives radiating and rippling to everyone elses and throughout generations from Adam to the last human.
As example, the church where those school children died, they have heard many people come to salvation, and have heard of many gospel conversations nationally and globally because of it. God knows our death date on Earth. And the effects of it, continue on over time after we are gone/ leave here, to bring about His good plans. Evil wont win.
Job didnt know why what happened to him did, but we do as God revealed it to us. And has been a help, hope, example, and look into deeper workings of what God does.
I also didnt know why I now have a rare cancer, out of the blue, but have been able to share the gospel with those who have cancer, their loved ones, encourage believers and others that there is hope, this world is temporary, on all situations we can trust God, he has the best planned for us ultimately, and better life awaits.
But as you noted about the corruption, God is going to take care of that too. Jesus will judge the world at the end. But those who die without Jesus, will miss out, because they rejected the only way to be made right with God and gain eternal life.
Sin and corruption will continue in this life because everything is broken, and sin will continue until God puts an end to it at the end.
People have choices. We are not robots, nor simply servants like the Angels. God made us to fellowship with Him. But, because of the Fall, we can't have that (by restoration) unless we come to Jesus.
Hope that gave a bit more clarity. This is all in the Bible, but many dont grasp it. But Christians are here to help with that, and to share the gospel. It is why we were left here after we were born again. Otherwise we would go straight to Heaven. 😊
