Muslim objection: Jesus didnt say "i am God"
A common objection of muslims: They say,
“Jesus never said, ‘I am God. Worship me.' "
He did those exact words, he said "I AM". If you understood the OT Hebrew & what God said about himself you would see Jesus declared clearly that He is God. Also note Jesus also never said, “I am a prophet,” or “I am a man. Do not worship me” but he was also those things and was worshipped- and rightly so.
However....You do not make a doctrine out of what Jesus did NOT say. You make it out of what He DID say. Jesus did say, “Before Abraham was, I AM,” (John 8:58), here He clearly stated it; and yes, Jesus is revealed as God by what Scripture*💥 reveals overall, incl what he said, and what he said with a spiritual meanung of which only those God reveals (those things) to soneone can be seen for it requires God revealing it to them and spiritual eyes. Those who have not believed in this true Jesus, those who have bit obeyed the Gospel, are not able to see. They can only see somewhat surface level things and only if theyre looking.
Note, Jesus also never said, “I am a prophet of Allah.” Yet that is what you claim.
There is more than one way to claim to be God in the flesh. In fact, Jesus is called God in John 20:28. Scripture [God's Word] declares it.
Jesus said, “Before Abraham was, I AM,” (John 8:58). Compare with Exodus 3:14 where God says, “I AM that I AM.” The Jews wanted to kill Jesus for saying that (John 8:59). He said several things to the Jewish leaders that literally pointed to Him flat out saying he is God. They wanted to kill Him because He Claimed to be GOD (John 10:33).
Scripture everywhere says Jesus was God from before the beginning, and eternally always existed. He is of the Trinity, the eternal God who is One. He is the Word of God who came to earth put on human flesh, called the God Man and Son of God, and this eternal God who always existed...He walked among mankind for the purpose of fulfilling the promise made in the Garden of Eden after the Fall of man into sin.
💥The Old Testament tells us God the Father is sending a Savior, the New Testament tells us Who He is & How He did it thru the Word made Flesh - Jesus the Christ the Messiah.
💥The Old Testament shows Jesus everywhere, it literally points to Him.
God calls everyone everywhere to repent of sin and Trust in the work Jesus did on the cross; which provided a payment for you to escape the coming wrath of God on sins. Jesus willingly came to be judged and take your place on the cross to recieve God's eternal wrath against sin* so you do not need to be judged on Judgement Day and be thrown into eternal wrath filled Hell. You can be free of the punishment you deserve by receiving and trusting in Jesus Christ. It's that simple.
God put on human flesh to accomplish this mission.
I know that might sound hard to fathom but it isnt really hard. How can God be in human flesh? 👈
God came to save sinners because only a perfect person could live a perfect life, completely obey all the laws of God, in order to be that perfect acceptable sacrifice to God the Father to redeem humans who will believe. Only God was capable of being that human sacrifice. This is how the eternal one can be both God and Man, and was sent from God to earth (as a human Son would be to go forth on behalf to do his fathers affairs). God added humanity to himself, its that simple.
The full Wrath of God (the Father) was poured out on Jesus for those ones who will believe, and God was satisfied with that work to pay to redeem the fallen believers [when Jesus died a human death, and He rose 3 days later proving He was God, that he paid the debt, and now made salvation available to all mankind.] Justice was satisfied. We can now receive the Righteousness of Christ on our behalf because He took our place and paid our debt. And if we receive Jesus as God and the Savior in this way, by trusting He did that for us; that while we were God's enemies he proved His love for us by doing this for us; we will be forgiven of all our sins> He will convert us to a New creation, cause us to be born again giving us spiritual life, recieve a personal relationship with our God, and the free gift of eternal life with Him.
If you reject Christ God has clearly stated there is only Hell and wrath awaiting for eternity. There is no escape, ever. So God wants everyone to turn to Jesus today.
