Charismatic claims to be delivered from possession
Question:
Cecessionists believe tongues and prophecy faded with the apostles deaths, are you saying miracles and exorcism did too? Just clarifying because I came to Christ through deliverance from Demons back in 2013.
Christian:
There are people who have encountered demon possession today. Even highly respected biblical preachers have. But it is a rare occurance.

However, on the subject there are two points and a an exhortation that needs to be shared.
1. The removing of demons posessing someone in Jesus time, (like the mass numbers of healings and all the miracles), were to point to Him as God. That was the purpose. So what about the 12 Apostles? Well before he left to Heaven, Jesus gifted them with some temporary powers to prove to people that they were the ones who were with Jesus.
2. What about posession today?
There is not a lot of it. God isn't allowing it. He doesnt heal and remove demons like what was going on back then. Jesus isnt here and the Apostles aren't either. So the only way to remove actual demons posessing someone is with the example given in Scripture by Jesus- PRAYER. What kind of prayer? Prayers for salvation. Why? Only God can transform a person and bring them back to sanity. When does ut happen? When demons are kicked out and the Holy Spirit moves in [permanently] >>when someone gets saved.
All unsaved people are enslaved to their sin nature and chained to Satan (and like their Father the devil) they "only do evil continually". They don't need to be posessed for that, he already puppetiers them. They need to be delivered from their sins by the power of God to be free. Once they have the righteous nature when they are born again, they are redeemed by Jesus and walk as a new creation. God radically transforms us when he causes us to be born again.
3. We cannot do anthing like excorcism seen in movies and what is supposedly done by false religions. If you claim you can then you are lying. If you say you have gifts the Holy Spirit no longer gives (*see replies and below link for evidence) it is likely you are demon possessed.
Satan and demons are liars and put a lying spirit into the ones who are children of the devil. So make sure you're saved, & not deceived by doctrines of demons masqurading as christian beliefs taught by false teachers and preachers.
Christians do not go around "rebuking" spirits or claiming there's 100 diff kinds of spirits that need some kind of chantations or verbal voodoo to get rid of them. Those are things taught by charlatan preachers who work for the devil. Don't let them decieve and bamboozle you any longer. Flee from those kinds of false teachers if you were led astray by them.
