Lordship Salvation?

Did the Reformation teach "Lordship Salvation." Does this doctrine essentially says you "get into salvation by grace, but you earn your keep through you works?" Is this idea just another variant of Roman Catholicism? I thought Salvation (justification & sanctification) are monergistic.

no. No Lordship Salvation doesnt teach that. You greatly misunderstand.

First, Scripture doesnt say you keep salvation by works. You are eternally saved because

1. God has converted you;caused you to be born again;has given you a new nature, and the Holy Spirit dwells in you Permanently.

2. Their names are written in the Lambs book of life since before the world was created.

3. All who belong to Jesus are eternally His, and not one will be lost nor taken from him.

One who is"born again" does works because:

*God is in the redeemed person doing good works through the believer.

*God has ordained the good works believers would do.

*Works are a gift

*These good Works naturally flow out of the life of a believer.

*Works are a visual fruit that can show a person is saved.

Second, i dont care what reformers or others taught. If God taught us in Scripture "Lordship salvation", it is truth. If Jesus is not your Lord and master, then sin is. If you are not lead by Christ, you are lead by Satan. If you aren't following Christ, he's not your master or Lord. We either submit to and obey God, or Satan. We are either controlled by sin or righteousness. This is a basic teaching of Scripture.
