Gifts & Callings?

Found in the wild:

Christian response:

This sounds charismatic.

Theres several issues here

>Spiritual gifts are only given to the believer for the edification of the body.

>Gifts are still given today, but not the ceased ones.

>Those who are called are called to faith in Christ and faith is always accompanied by repentance.

>And there is only ONE fruit of the Spirit. All thats listed in Gal. 5 is true characteristics of a saved person. They have spiritual life and that new nature. So they live those things out but do grow more in them as they mature in the Faith.

But let's look deeper:

Charismatics do not do these acts by the power of the Holy Spirit. Of course you could be a cautious cintinuist and  believe those gifts could possibly maybe still be used by God, but only if you agree it has never happened since the Apostles era. Charismatics on the otherhand claim they do still exist and claim to have them hold to false beliefs and false teachings, are lying, and that's a big part of the problem.

They are among those who will be told "depart from me", they trust in their own righteousness, and have a prideful superiority complex. The impersonation of spiritual gifts that have not been seen in any legitimate fashion in 1900 years is not a part of that equation. Many would call charismatics heretics and even a cult.

You cannot receive God's gift nor fulfill your calling [purpose] in Christ... without first joining the repentant faith, eg. God causing you to be born from above; being born again; being converted by God.

This also means no unrepentant sinner (unsaved) will recieve the gift of eternal life, nor the fruit of the Spirit, nor be used by God to do works of any kind that Scripture refers to, nor live out a persons purposes in Christ.

Jesus said you must be born again. And he clearly said how: Repent and believe the Gospel. Mark 1:15

And to be a follower and approved workman, we need to rightly divide the truth, and obey what God taught, ...not add our opinions and false teaching/ heresy to Scripture, just cuz we like the idea of appearing special or better than others. Cuz that is treading on blasphemy of the Holy Spirit, [they are teaching and believing a lie, and lying about the Holy Spirit], if a person or group claims they have special gifts that are no longer given after Scripture was completed by the 12 Jesus taught, [what he told them was written to complete the revelation of Scripture; it clarified and gave clear info on what was hid in the OT, corrected error of the Jewish teachings, and revealed all that was true, known and taught by this revealed Messiah in the NT, and based on the eyewitness of the 12. The whole Bible focus was on Jesus. From Eden to Revelation. It is a completed revelation from God, there is nothing new. Nor will there be.

If anyone claims to have a new word, it must align with Scripture, and yet if it does, then its not new. If it is false then it wasnt true nor from God. Therefore there will be nothing new].

Note, Rom. 11:29 is talking about salvation. Repentance is inextricable from salvation. "If you have been called, you have been justified, sanctified, and glorified" (Rom. 8:30). "If you have the Holy Spirit you have been sealed by him" (Eph. 1:13).

You cannot have the gifts of the Spirit without the Spirit, you cannot have the Spirit without being saved, you cannot be saved without being called. All are inseparable.

And yes, Christians will be known by their fruit. Not by the false. A believer is not a habitual liar. If someone is lying about gifts the Holy Spirit doesnt give anymore, [because theyre no longer necessary, (We have the completed Bible)], ...it appears theyre not saved. Because those who live in sin are not of Him. If you purposely, constantly, day after day hour after hour continue to lie about having something you dont, pridefully proclaim you do, and try to tell othrrs they must have it in order to be saved, then not only are you a liar and not saved, but are preaching a false gospel.

Jesus said "On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’" Matthew 7:22-23

Repent and get right with God.

Then leave charismatic church for a biblical church.
