Believer seeking clarity

👤Did you say ytd that you think there is some stuff in Gospel of John that was "wonky" or you "felt it wasnt clear about something"?  I am open to discuss it. 

I know Scripture is all from God, and also that the Bible we have is what we see "in English", and also depending on the version read it may lead us to seek clariry; some things we might not grasp well, or connect it to Scripture overall. 

🗣Reply: Thanks. Well in some places in NT, some areas talks only to Jews or Apostles, not to all believers, (and never to unbelievers). And in NT there were some issues cuz of mixed churches, so letters were written.

I couldnt tell, but also just looking at this section in 1 John 1:3 makes it seem like legalism-obedience and  that could lead to false teaching.  It might confuse people because it seems to say "if you obey Gods commands you are saved."

And, people might not ask a pastor, look at a study Bible, look it up online or ask a Christian friend. And things like this lead people to preach falsely, teach falsely or start a new denomination.

So you're not saying something in Scripture is wonky or not correct, but you are saying there's a concern over people taking things out of context. 

If one is saved, Christ righteousness in you, so, you, in the new nature automatically naturally obey and live in righteousness. You would obey the 2 commandments given by Christ because it would naturally flow out of you. 

For those confused, if they eventually ask (if confused) we redirect to what was said before in NT or in NT overall, or/& Scripture as a whole. 

Every believer learns Scripture in different timeframes, and some dont encounter the same bible difficulties needing clarity... but if they ask a well studied Christian, pastor or consult a reliable reputable Christian commentary, study Bible, or reputable online resource (and sermons) theyll find the answer. It is also why it is important to sit under a preacher who has degrees in Theology from reputable schools, and who preaches verse by verse through Scripture [ who includes orig language, history, cultures etc], vs just any preacher. 

I recently discussed how ones biblical understanding is also related to creation of various denominations, from reformation to sbc to independant reformed and non denom. [Tho now w non denom you have to be careful of wishy washy preaching and light or no church belief statement. (And exclude current progressive and woke "churches")]. It has to do with what they understood, and while there are essentials to hold to, if they veer away from an essential, (such as add legalism vs grace alone) and teach something into the Word instead of only teach out of what the Word actually says... you end up with either a cult, false teaching, or a diff denomination.
