Q Walk in the Spirit & Sin, assurance, unforgiving, hypocrites, etc

How can we “walk in the Spirit” all the time?

I love God, I believe the Bible is true and that Jesus is who He says He is, but I can’t seem to stop sin as a pattern in my life; and I don’t trust that just believing Christ rose from the dead and confessing that is enough. There has to be some way of assurance — but I don’t get how Christians are so unforgiving of sin in others, as if we don’t all partake in it constantly. Isn’t that why salvation means so much? Because we dont deserve it?

This will help:
If one is saved they by the new nature they naturally walk in the Spirit.

If we dont believe what God has said, we call him a liar and are not trusting Him. Scripture reveals if we "believe" in Jesus* (with that understanding, as we repent and believe the Gospel) that we will be/are now born again by God and be saved. (*Understanding Who Jesus is, is vital to the gospel, to ensure we dont believe a false gospel and in a false Jesus).

Some, sadly, who claim to be Christian are false converts even in the church. They dont know God but do know religiousism and some things of the Bible, just as NT apostate Jews did. Living moral lives and legalistically but not being right with God (ot salvation is same as nt salvation). Then add in the new believers, and weak not growing believers who dont have much love but also (like unsaved ones) dont realize theyre being hypocritical, self righteous and unloving. The new & weak arent fighting their own sin battles but look at others sorta critically, they dont read the Bible daily & so theyre not maturing.

Salvation changes us, and while we still sin sometimes, it is true that God gave us what we didnt deserve (salvation/grace) and didnt give us what we do deserve (Hell).

It is good you are thinking thru these things, but make sure you keep yourself "in check" daily, hourly, to ensure you dont fall into sin, become hypocritical, but also to ensure you show love, grace, gentleness, forgiveness & love towards those who fumble (re the topics here) so they can learn from seeing your life and the way you respond.
