The problem with works based religions

If i attack you, yell angrily at you, poke you, smack you, spit on you, harm you, constantly lie to you, steal from you, and constantly do bad things daily, all my life, wouldnt you be angry at me? Not only are you still doing it to me, but you cant take it back (undo it), or fix the problem (works). Nothing you do can make what you keep doing "acceptable". 

The attempts to try would cause you to say.... Hey! You harmed and offended me! Stop trying to give me "goodies" (good works) to bribe me, to forgive you (to get me to "just move on")!!  

Thats how it is with God. But much more serious as sin comes with the death penalty. 

You need an intermediary, someone else (qualified) to deal with the issue (restitution/payment) and set the relationship right again. And God does this by giving you a new nature at salvation. Forgiveness is available in Jesus. 

Salvation in Christianity is not about works, it is about grace, freedom and liberty in Christ. God has declared this since (sin entered the world in) Eden. Only thru the Messiah can our sins be forgive. The Bible is very clear. 

The Gospel is good news, and reveals why Jesus is the only way to God/Heaven. And reveals YHWH is the only God. And salvation is free, it cost Jesus everytging on the cross. He paid the debt in full.
