Repentant Faith*

It is a Repentant Faith that saves.

“Without repentance you cannot be saved”
Jesus said "Repent & Believe the Gospel"  (Mark 1:15)

Some are not able to articulate why if it is salvation by belief, why do we say when sharing the gospel that salvation comes by repentance and belief.

Someone explained it well this way....
"It is a Repentant Faith that saves."

Expecting salvation for an unrepentant person would be like a criminal about to be let go on bail by a acquaintance who has the money but this criminal is disrespectful to the one who has the means to pay the fine, the criminal disrespects the judge, and is making gestures and saying provoking comments the victim’s family in the courtroom, and thus loses his chance to have the fine paid, because the acquaintance is not going to pay the cost for an unrepentant self righteous person.

If you are not broken over your sins, seeing them in truth, in 😱 horror, & yourself as a vile criminal before God... you are self righteous. Jesus did not come for the self righteous, but for the humble...for those who recognize their need a Savior. 

We can be saved from our sins, & the eternal punishment of our sins, because Jesus took care of that. He paid the cost, and thru faith in "trusting Him", you are free.

Examine your sins, see your need for the offer God has extended to you (through belief in Jesus), and become born again by God, today.
