What Say You?

Let's reason here for a minute.

Do you believe you strive to live as a good person? Meaning, you want to do what is right; to care about others, do good, and dont want to harm others.

You believe that if someone does something wrong, they should go to the person and apologize for what they did wrong. 

You believe that right? 

If I wronged you, I should apologize and not do that again, right? And show it based on a change. 

Let's also consider. For a minute, when you were a child. You were taught what was right. When you did something wrong, your father disciplined you. You were sorry you did the bad thing(s), and ran to him to say you were sorry (and inside you knew you wanted to change and do what you know is right). And what happened? Your father opened His arms to embrace you because you came to set right what was wrong. You sought forgiveness and restoration. And your father, who loves you, accepted the apology and the relationship was restored. 

This too is how it is with God. 

But it is much bigger and much more serious. So serious that he calls sin "crime" against God. And because of Sin, by Adam in Eden, God had to make the way possible for restoration because the children were hiding. Hiding their sin and from guilt and shame. God told us "the wages of sin is death". Sin requires the death penalty. But He revealed that forgiveness, redemption and Life is available by the sacrifice He would make, to rescue them from the judgment and eternal punishment after death. 

In Eden, He killed an animal and shed its blood. He showed them that "without the shedding of blood theres no forgiveness of sin". That while the wages of sin is death, "the free gift of God is eternal life through Jesus the Messiah". And this sacrifice served as a shadow until the "promised seed" arrived, "The Lamb of God who takes away the sins" of believers. 

God showed us that we know we do wrong. It was clearly known since Eden and immorality was specifically pointed out by God in the Old Testament (and in 10 Commandments), as well as in the New Testament. 

We have sinned, and we need to be made right with God to be forgiven and have a restored fellowship/relationship that was lost at the Fall.  

So we need to admit our sins and rebellion, (grab hold of the gift in Jesus), be given access to the Father, repent/apologize, and have a restored relationship, by the power of the Holy Spirit. 

We do not need to run or hide from God anymore. He wants us to come to Him. 

So if you believe, as you said earlier, that you want to do what is right, will you come to Jesus today, to have the relationship with God restored(?) And recieve the benefits promised. 

Nothing in this short life, is worth losing an eternity with God in Heaven and in the coming new earth. Eternity is never ending. This life only offers a very short time in light of eternity. We dont know what day we will enter eternity through death. But if you have Jesus as your Savior, death cannot hold you, you have victory over the grave because of Jesus.

Dont hang on to carnal pleasures and be lost for eternity. Theres nothing of value in the temporary fleeting things of this world. Focus on eternity, it is never ending. 

Today, get matters settled with God, (and make sure you walk rightly as He revealed to us how to do that by giving us the Scriptures). 

You will not do it on your own nor be left alone, but the indwelling Holy Spirit will cause you to be born again and guide you in the Christian life. And Jesus will always be with you: "I will never leave you nor forsake you".
