FreeWill Suffering - disease

Free Will & Suffering

Q: how is free will associated with disease and suffering. My mom got dementia at 60, is this implying my mom choose that disease?

A: No. She didnt choose it. Good questions tho. Lets take a clearer look:

Free will is the choice people make. God gave us freedom to choose. But because of the fall theyre trapped in the endless cycle of sin because the Fall brought the sin nature. We only do evil and are no longer capable of good. God has fixed that through the new nature available in Jesus.

So Suffering exists in this life because the decision Adam made to disobey God and choose to sin. It brought spiritual death, physical death, corruption into creation, pain, sufferings of all kinds, disease and other problems.

It was sin that caused this at the beginning, and we have a worse tail end of it because 6,000 years of genetic deterioration and diseases has brought what we experience today. Thank God we are in an era of real medicine and medical and mental health so we can have blessing of helps. While some things can help slow dementia or rare blood cancers like mine, they in the end lead to death. But medicine is helping today. I can only pray that a cure is found and available to reverse it and be blessed with a ling life that also doesnt end in dementia after fixing the first issue. But... this life is temporary. Thank God that he had death come into play because it is temporary. We only have to deal with it for 20 years, 50 years, 200 years, and it means this world will fade, pass and be replaced with a new Heaven and New Earth. Where we get to have a new body that is eternal, never suffers, never experiences disease or dementia. A never ending eternity [zillion⁹⁹⁹⁹⁹⁹⁹⁹⁹⁹⁹+ etc years (πŸ‘ˆnever ending)] an eternal place where sin will never enter again. We will live in perfection as we were before the Fall, in a new earth, with all the joy, peace, blessing and good pleasures God has in store (for those in Christ).

This is why the Gospel is important, and contains good news, an offer, a promise and a eternal blessing. All we need to do is believe... and recieve it.   I pray you will 😊
