Religion causes harm

Q:
Does the Christian religion cause way more harm than good?

Some issues I have are:

UK/West colonization, lack of separation of church and state, lobbying, to name a few.

I also feel religious freedom is in fact not possible here with the Christian heiritage in this country, in my life experience.

And issues with residential schools, & homosexual therapy.

A:
ok so lets unpack that...

Christians are responsible for people getting educated in US, North America, EU and globally. Prior to modern times 99% were illiterate globally. School gave us ability to read and write, and learn the Bible. Without Christianity we would all be in 3rd world nations, where poor stayed poor and false religions deceived. You can learn more on Christianity's massive impact on the world "for good", here >> https://a.co/7XIoQrr  kindle book

America is the only nation that created freedom of religion. Every other country outside USA always had a single religion the country people were required to follow, and always did. Several countries today now have some more freedoms because of our influence. Because of Christianity influence, today many countries allow multiple religions, or they have underground churches.

And in US, atheism reigns in k-12 and colleges for 35 years already. So theres no supremacy or Christian rule here. Christianity and God have been removed from public schools after 1930, roughly in 1950s, def gone by 1980 in all other conservative States.

There is great benefit people enjoy from the West and America specifically because of Christianity, even if people do not realize it. Because they did not grow up in other world Arab countries, India, China, North Korea, Thailand, Russia, etc. Just look at Western opinions and shock in social media comments about atrocities happening globally to women. They cant even divorce in most countries even if the husband is abuser. The family will not help her get out.  The western worldview/ opinions see things through a Christian & Free society cultures lens.

In America- Women are equal. They can vote. They can drive. They can have bank accounts. Theyre equal under the law. They can marry who they want. They can say no. They are protected by the law (and the courts are not rigged so they get punished for things they didn't do, or if it is someones elses fault; unlike rape in Arab countries- the woman is beaten by courts and jailed and she is the one at fault cuz a man raped her). In USA Women can start a business, & they can marry up (caste system in India and other countries kept everyone "down" in birth class and never allowed to have hope. Died in poverty). Women do not need a chaperone everywhere. They arent kidnapped and forced married/raped like muslim countries and china, nor married off at 9 or 12 like in Africa or muslim countries). They can go to school and college without fear of kidnappers, rapists and murderers (such as in Africa and Muslim countries). I could go on for days...

The list of benefits that came from Christian influence is endless. Esp for women in US, and during Queen Elizabeth II later era in the West. In fact, those in UK are no longer all forced to go to Anglican church every Sunday, and only have that religion. They can even have a different Christian faith or diff religion there, because of America's influence on the world.

Are all who claim to be Christian, and all religions that claim to be Christian, "Christian"? No. There are many false religions including catholicism, Anglican, Episcopalian, Orthodox, and cults like 7th day, mormons, jehova witnesses, various pentecostals etc. They teach a different God, Jesus, Gospel and doctrine than what God has told us in the Bible. They did so in old times to control people and those raised in it. They have nothing to do with true Christianity; but decieve the masses as if they do. So Satan can slander Christianity among the unsaved.

Fortunately the protestant reformation reformers sacrificed their lives, both hard work translating the Bible, dodging catholic rulers and religion police, and created the printing press, and got Bibles to people in their own language, and they all died as mayrters for doing so. We owe them much.  Christians used the Bible to teach reading and writing, and exposed the lies of catholicism simply by being able to have & read the Bible.
Today people can read, write, get educated, have any job (besides what their father did for 100 generations), and live free because of Christians.

So, regarding false christian organizations....
This is where you find people doing bad things to residential children in Canada (?), forced conversions by catholicism in the distant past, and other wrong things.

But... true Christians do not engage in that. Also they will speak the truth in love. They may sound and firm in tone when discussing/revealing immorality and try to explain why something is wrong. They try to speak in love, with gentleness, respect as a fellow human (image bearer of God), and be helpful, as best they individually can. They will help people conquer sins by provide resources, tools, counceling, etc to help them. But ultimately only God converting them (causing them to be "born again"/transforming them/giving them Spiritual life)... it is the only way a person will have power over and ability to conquer any and all sin/immorality. And individuals do that by the desire to be free of all sin, by the power of God. No one else can do that for them. Christians can help with advice, resources, services etc, and the rest is between them and God. It doesnt matter if that sin is porn, being a robber, a drug dealer, a thug, a prostitute, a lgbt, someone with an identity crisis, a drunkard, druggie, or an idolator. True believers turn from all sin no matter what it is.

True believers also Read the Bible regularly, or daily, they live the Word. They know it is God communicating to them, changing and growing them in the faith, and knowledge of Christ.

Hope this helps 😊😊
Quite a bit to look into, but if you spend the time looking into it all, you will come away with solid knowledge you did not have before. And likely a new perspective on biblical Christianity.
