Fun fact: The OT era includes Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, as the Apostles and Jesus lived in the OT era. NT begins after the Resurrection. But the Bible splits it at the announcement of Christ's arrival. 

The original manuscripts, or autographs, of the Bible no longer exist. Our Old Testament manuscripts were much later than the actual date that they were written. They were taken as reliable, but without manuscript evidence verifying it. 👉 However (Jesus notes).🌟

The dead sea scrolls 👈 were extremely ancient manuscripts that shows that the Old Testament was not changed during the copying process for hundreds of years. These manuscripts present compelling reason to believe the Bibles which we possess today were faithfully transcribed throughout the centuries. They are also very important for gaining a slightly more accurate understanding of the original manuscripts. Here is a longer resources on the topic.

We do know that each of the Bible’s authors [OT&NT] wrote only as much and as long as they were led to do so. Each author wrote at the direction of the Holy Spirit who “breathed out” Scripture to him. Peter explains this process: “Prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit” (2 Peter 1:21; cf. 2 Timothy 3:16).
