1. The Bible has not been changed. [ Evidence]
Do charlatan false preachers twist Scripture? Sure. Which is why you should read it Daily so you know it and are discerning and not deceived.
2. Hypocrites or Christians growing in faith and making mistakes along the way are 2 different things. However you do not Judge the One being worshiped by the imperfect worshippers/followers. The truly born again are becoming more like Christ daily and will be perfected When they get to Heaven (step from death i to eternity, or at the Rapture).
3. Non Christians cannot be "Christlike" because
1. They are not born again. 2. Therefore do not have the spirit of Christ and 3. Without being sealed and indwelled by the Holy Spirit at conversion ... they have 0 ability to be Christlike.
4. Christ has 2 comings. The 1st time was for the mission of salvation. So of course as the great physician of souls he would be atound sinners (such as you mentioned) and Jesus clearly stated he came for the ones who knew they were sinners, not for the self righteous.

The 2nd coming is as the Just Judge.
He will return with redeemed believers & angels and reign over earth, and believers will reign with Him. He will rule righteously. And when the end comes Judgement Day will arrive and He will judge the living and the dead. [On Heaven & Hell ] end times
5. Jesus was not there to "listen to them" or "get them to be good". He was on mission to save them. [And then God does good through them]. They cannot do good because they are sinners. Saved ones are just saved sinners (and do not shed this old dead sinful flesh body until death or rapture, where they recieve a eternal sin free body & are then perfected)
6. Jesus sacrifice in the cross has nothing to do with happiness or temporary things of this life ... that is a false modern message. Easily debunked by anyone who reads the Bible. [A other Free Book link ]
7. Jesus did not go to Hell.
But yes. Any Jewish people who died before the coming of the Messiah, who had faith in the coming Messiah were part of the ones talked about in the link.
8. The Bible is not used to control people [like dictator religious govt rulers]. The Bible is a light and a path and a instruction book from God. The Holy Spirit reveals truth in it to believers, and guides their life in the new nature. And the Soverign God does have over control of all things and all people from Adam to the last human who will be born.
False religions have misused the Bible and created false teachings, [catholics, orthodox, anglican, episcopalian, progressive churches, charismatics, and the cults] .... but Christianity has not. The Bible is right there easy to pick up and read, to know truth.
This is why one needs to read the Bible daily. The Reformers gave their lives to get the Bible into everyones hands including yours, and God gave us these Scriptures to communicate to us. If we read it daily then no one can lie to us... because we are constantly feeding on the Word and clearly see error and are easily able to discern lies.
