Whats the oldest religion
Whats the oldest belief? Christianity or world religions?
the term Christianity or Christian, confuses non believers when it comes to dating the religion.
But an easy clarification & revelation puts it right....
> God created all things. We are told Jesus is God, He is the Word, the 2nd person of the trinity, and was there - the trinity was there at Creation, creating.
At the beginning....In Genesis Adam & Eve knew God. God walked among them and interacted with them. They sinned & were then spiritually separated from God. God said then, He is sending a Messiah (a Savior) to redeem us from sin and make us right with Him again (giving Spiritual life).
One's faith was in that Messiah through the entire history timeline of the old testament.
So from Creation of man thru OT (follow me here....) thru when the Messiah arrived - surprise... its Jesus the Messiah. The Christ.
Therefore all who believed in God from the beginning of humanity and until He revealed himself again as Jesus.... were those in Christ. Today are called Christians. They live IN Christ. Just like a person living in California are called CalifornIANS. Christianity is the oldest belief in existence... because He was here from the beginning. And it all started with Him. And has always been about Him as Messiah.
John 1: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.2 He was in the beginning with God.
All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being.
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Its interesting how the world assumes Christians/Christianity is new.
OT language was hebrew = Messiah
NT is greek = Christ.
After creation, Since Eden the Messiah was promised.
The Gospel began to be preached to humanity since Eden (in Gen 3). But was fully revealed and fully accomplished "once for all time" when Jesus completed that mission.
"But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive adoption as sons." Galatians 4:4-5
"For at the right time, Christ died for the ungodly." Romans 5:6
"The first time the disciples were called Christians was at Antioch.” Acts 11:26
Just cuz we now hold to a name " Christian" that just means "IN Christ" (like those in calif are Californians) ... it doesnt mean Christianity is a new religion. Its the oldest faith, the first one. The only True one.

Just because the people moved away from God after the population grew, [after man left Eden], because those later other parents never told their kids about God... doesnt mean anything other than they failed to educate their kids. Then at some point false religions began... and they persist to today. Both cuz they were duped into lies but also... cuz they don't want to be accountable to God. Who was responsible for all the false religions? Satan. And Satan still deceives and dupes multi millions of people today. Sin also keeps people from God. They run from him. But God wants us to run to Him.
