How can God become human?
Q: The true God is all-knowing and all powerful, he can't just make mistakes, so how can He become a baby and simply die by his own creations just to forgive our sins? Is it logical? It appears to defies understanding and natural inclination of every human being. - Muslim
A: YHWH is the Creator, who knew everything about mankind's existence before GOD (the Trinity) even created the world. He knew man would sin, that he would send the Messiah, that the Word would be made flesh and be known on earth as Jesus, the Christ, the Messiah, the Savior. That this Word would be titled the King of Kings and Lord of Lord's, and Son of Man and Son of God. For specific reasons. And that the Father would give all the redeemed to Jesus because He bought and paid for them all. GOD knew that he loved His creation, and had a plan in place that would start in eden and end In eternity future. He already has things planned for believers in eternity....that's how far GOD has planned. It's a done deal, its just playing out now to come to completion.
You are right to say YHWH is all knowing, omniscient, omnipresent, all powerful. He is also Perfect and righteous, loving and merciful, gracious and Soverign.
God has told us My ways are not your ways. God's ways are Higher than our ways and our understanding.
So God didnt make mistakes, people did.
GOD gave free will so people choose to love Him and follow Him. He doesn't force us. He didnt make us as obedient robots or as angels. He made us to have a personal relationship with Him.
We know that GOD is perfect and that all became sinners through Adam's sin. The spiritual connection, the relationship with GOD was severed and died at the Fall. Humans were then given a death sentence "the wages of sin is death" (vs). 1 sin crime committed against GOD not only brings the death penalty but also punishment. Humans are eternal and theres no other place for them in eternity outside of Heaven, so they have to go to a jail somewhere. Hell was made for Satan and the fallen angels. So that is the place where all sinners will go, but also all sin will be punished everlastingly eternally and the sinner committed the sins so theyre punished. Sin cannot be in GOD's presence without His Holy Wrath falling on the sinner.
Who is good?
So everyone sins and falls short of the perfection of GOD (vs). So there's no hope. All sin and all will be Judged in God's courtroom. Or will they? GOD showed His love towards us humans that while we were sinners, while we were still His enemies, He did something for us (vs). GOD's plan would be carried out.
GOD decided to offer salvation, redeem us humans from sin and set us apart for Him. Those who recieve the offer.
How can God be a human?
GOD created humans. He made this flesh balloon, this living machine, and put a soul in it and gave us life.
GOD can do anything. Nothing is impossible for GOD (vs). Therefore it is not a hard thing for Him to create a human body and fill it with Himself. God is Spirit, he created time and space and atoms, he certianly can dwell in a tent of human flesh. And can do so virgin born and not by the seed of a man but by the design planned for God to dwell as deity in flesh.
So again, mankind sinned and cannot restore the Spiritual life that died. Man cannot reach GOD or work their way to Heaven. Theres no connection. We're spiritually dead and incapable of reconnecting ourselves to GOD. However GOD being perfect can give us Spiritual life again through the divine reconnector. GOD can bring us to Himself and GOD can make us alive again.
So, GOD is perfect and we are not. We cannot get right with God ourselves, only perfection can fix imperfection. Only the Creator can fix/repair what's broken.
GOD required a blood sacrifice for the forgiveness of sins. Death. No human meets the qualifications to be the perfect sacrifice. Therefore God had to do this work. The work only He can do.
God the WORD came to Earth, at the right time (vs) and lived a perfect life (never sinned once, as God cannot sin), and voluntarily died on the cross as the sacrificial lamb of God, to take the eternal punishment (the eternal wrath of God against every sin of every person who will ever believe) on His body, and His blood was shed on the cross. He released himself from that human body, allowed it to remain in the grave 3 days, and then resurrected it (entered it again), proving God has power over death, and victory over the grave was made possible for mankind. By the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. [Typically referred to the work of Christ on the cross].
This means, all who believe Jesus is God, and that His completed work on the cross provided atonement for our sins, those who believe in Jesus, Trust He did this, and repent (once and for all) of sin... [this is "obeying" the Gospel]... they will be born again by GOD. When one repents and believes, they turn from sin to God, they embrace Jesus and thank God for this amazing redemption. When they obey the Gospel, God's Holy Spirit converts them from one in darkness to one in light. From spiritually dead to spiritually alive.
Jesus work on the cross means He took our place and we took His. We now are seen by GOD as covered in the blood of Christ. We have the righteousness of Christ. The robe of righteousness covers us. We are children of the King, children of God. Children of the Father. Ambassadors for Christ, priests in service to God. Saints, glorious ones, the redeemed. A shining light in the dark world. And those who belong to Jesus for eternity.
We who are guilty have been washed clean (vs), yet have been rescued from Judgement and eternal punishment because Jesus paid our fine, and we are free. Not just free, but partakers in all that is Christ's. The free gift of eternal life belongs to us and we will reign with Christ in the millennial kingdom, and in eternity.
And enjoy Eternity that is sin free, free of suffering, pain, struggle, tears, sadness, all the things that are corrupted on earth in this life and stained by sin, will never enter eternity. We will receive a new body fit for eternity, that is sin free & perfect. We will be perfected, and live eternally in peace, with joy, love, righteousness, and all good things in the new eternal home: the new Earth and new Heaven.
Baptism therefore shows what has already happened to us. It is a physical visual representation, a public declaration, that we align with Christ.
We were buried in His death and Raised to new life in His resurrection. And are a new creation.
GOD radically transformed us into a new creation. That's why being born again is a big deal. Not everyone who claims to be a Christian is one (vs & vs), but only those whom GOD has converted. And you will know them by their fruit. By their radically changed life. And by seeing them persevere to the end of their life.
B. If you read the Bible you will actually see the answer to what you're asking. And what I shared here....and much more.
It takes about 80 hours and isnt hard to do. Start in Genesis and read thru Revelation, take about 35 minutes a day, and within 90 days you'll have read it. Tip: if you look at it with your eyes paying attention for everything in the OT that points to Jesus, from a Christian perspective, you will understand the entire Bible in a much broader understanding than others who just read it in general. It makes a huge difference.
Hopefully this has helped explain what no one has explained to you before.
If you would like to surrender to YHWH, through Jesus Christ, h ere's the Gospel we are called to obey.
I hope you do. 🙂
Below are more helps to bring understanding to areas that were never explained to you before about Christianity [by the Christians whose faith the answers come from].
