On CCM as a tool for the gospel
CCM music ought NOT to be about how we feel!
Many songs focus on “me.” and rarely Christ.
And in many cases, one of the reasons is the incorrect modern gospel. I think that is the root of it. The claim that God is only love and offers easy forgivism, is like a genie granting wishes, and giving you eternal pleasures that are "me" focused.
Christ is not the focus and thus not preached. However some songs do.
In either case if a believer sifts thru the available music in CCM they can find songs with lyrics worthy of singing and adding to a playlist.
It also gives us various opportunities to share the gospel with those unsaved around us when we are at places that play CCM, such as at home, in our vehicle, at a Cafe or store that somehow is playing it. And we can springboard into gospel convos from it.
Ex: When with unsaved person, Hum and sing the song as you walk thru the store. Get back in the car and [ if desire, not necessary, que up/play that song], after you drive off say Did you notice that Christian song playing when we were shopping? It was such an encouragement and blessing to hear that on the radio. Do you have a religious background? Has anyone briefly explained the reason why people are Christian? Take them thru the gospel. Then ask questions related to if they see their need for the Savior, and if so let them know they can repent of their sins and turn to God, trusting in Jesus to save you and convert you to a new creation. One that hates sin and loves righteousness. I'll leave you here for a couple minutes, [grab water or drive on], and if you want to pray to God, speak from your heart, you can certainly do so. And silent prayers are still heard
Then leave them be for 5 minutes.
If they got right with God & told you, rejoice, take them to dinner to celebrate, call a few friends from church and join u or later have a celebration over it. Why not 😊. The angels rejoice when 1 sinner is saved.
And they are a new brother or sister in Christ now.
Help them get a Bible and get discipled and plugged into a Church.
