Q: Still have sex & know its wrong & want to stop. -Female
A: Truthfully, it shows a lack of love for Christ & God. Who paid for your sins, to just sin willy nilky vs living in righteousness and becoming more holy. It is lack of growth in sanctification, a lack of reading the Word in private fellowship w the Lord and lack of prayer. Slightly might point to not being saved but posdibly just morally religoious.
But, Let me encourage you...
The fact that you are not happy with it and want to turn from & conquer it says volumes. Those in the world could care less.
If you are feeling conflicted & you are working on it on daily, It’s just a matter of fighting temptation, and having victory.
Scripture says we are not to align Christ with a prostitute, and thats what sex does outside marriage. We are His Bride.
You need to abstain sexually. Dating causes women to have emotional connection with him, that you were never designed to have. Dating causes a believer (the man) to fall to temptation & causes you to sin too. Theres no chaperone nor plan for the relationship, from jump. Dating gives unsaved wicked men opportunities to prey on you & predators to coherce you into sinful sex, & stealing what belings to your husband. Most sexual relationships in dating end. It was never meant for us to date, 👉but for biblical courtship to find a mate. If you date & sex... you have given the most intimate part of yourself to multiple partners. What then will belong to the man God sends to you?
If the one you are seeing is godly, he will not press you for fornication if he’s not godly, walk away, you don’t want to play with fire. God's set this design for marriage to protect women, and men too.
Determine what to look for in a godly spouse, and discuss that list with your pastor, and godly married Christians you know. Then seek such a person, with intent from day 1 that he knows you want path of chaperoned courtship towards marriage, not dating.
We are all works in progress. Stay prayerful for strength, stay in the Word daily, and you will conquer this and any sin.
Ps. One of the quickest ways to stop is remember😉 God is "actually" looking at you and with you 247. If you wouldnt do it with him "sitting next to you", you wouldnt do it when you know "He sees you" and nothing is hid from him. You can conquer this sin.
